Perspective

Alli Wade ('22)

The endless day-to-day can become daunting. As I get caught in the rush of life, every minor shortcoming seems like my world is crashing down around me. Then I step back.

I no longer look. I no longer hear.

I see. I listen.

I see God moving in every breath of my life. I listen to the wind move with His grace. What I once considered monotony is now a routine of witnessing His glory. With each breath, each step, each encounter, each new sight, I am blessed with grace. I could never earn this life. God does not love me simply because I am “lovable.”

I stumble. I complain. I forget. I wander.

Still, I am known. I am loved. I am forgiven.

As I move through my day, how many instances of God's presence do I overlook? Am I forgetting the point? Did the perfect savior give His life just so I can get lost in mine? Sometimes we miss the outpouring of His overwhelming love when we choose to wrap ourselves in this "overwhelming" life.

Perspective.
